Gather sits one block off Town Square at 72 S Glenwood Street, close enough to walk from most downtown lodging but far enough to skip the Square's foot traffic. The restaurant describes its own style as chic-mountain ambiance paired with modern-eclectic cuisine, and that eclecticism shows on the menu: Korean-marinated Wagyu steak built on Snake River Farms striploin with bone marrow fried rice and a cucumber-pineapple salad sits alongside a truffle pasta with house-made noodles, roasted mushrooms, and a soft egg. Pan-seared salmon comes with a basil puree, roasted leeks, and caramelized fennel. The kitchen also runs a fried chicken plate built on Red Bird chicken with a three-cheese Mornay over cavatappi and house-made hot sauce, plus a locally inspired elk Bolognese for diners who want something more rooted in the region. To start, the kitchen sends out pork buns stuffed with crispy braised pork belly, kimchi, and Fresno chiles, and Brussels sprouts finished with white balsamic vinaigrette, shaved pecorino, dried cranberries, and pepitas — both dishes the restaurant says draw repeat orders. There's a craftsman-style bar in the room for cocktails, and the dining room and bar both look out toward Snow King Mountain.

Gather is part of a small restaurant group with sister locations in Omaha and Maui, plus a second Jackson Hole property called Palate, which explains the more traveled, less purely 'mountain lodge' feel of the menu compared to some of its neighbors. The restaurant opens daily at 5 p.m. and stays open later on weekends; happy hour runs 5 to 6 p.m. at the bar. Reservations can be booked online or by phone, and groups of 13 or more are asked to call rather than book online. Beyond dinner service, Gather does private events and both on- and off-site catering. It's a fit for a table of six wanting to split several plates across different cuisines, or a couple who wants a cocktail at the bar before walking back to the Square.
