About The Bunnery Bakery & Restaurant

The Bunnery opened on St. Patrick's Day in 1975 in a small log cabin half a block north of Town Square that had previously been a blacksmith's shop โ€” the kind of specific origin detail that's easy to invent and rare to actually confirm, but it's stated plainly on the restaurant's own history page. It started as a bakery and expanded into a full bakery-and-restaurant operation in 1980. Forty-plus years later it's still turning out baked goods from the original recipes alongside a daily-changing pastry case. The signature product is O.S.M. โ€” oats, sunflower seeds, and millet โ€” a trademarked blend sold as granola, pancake and waffle mix, and oatmeal, and described by the restaurant as a formula you won't find anywhere else. Beyond that, the menu covers an extensive breakfast list (much of it served all day), fresh-squeezed juices, sandwiches, burgers, and salads for lunch. The retail counter sells the restaurant's own jams, syrups, and sauces to take home.

The restaurant is at 130 North Cache, close enough to Town Square to be a natural first or last stop for anyone walking the downtown core. In warm weather, the outdoor terrace under orange umbrellas is the draw โ€” a casual patio rather than a formal dining setup. Hours run 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, split into a breakfast service from 7 to 11:30 and lunch from 11:30 to 3, so there's no dinner service here at all โ€” worth knowing before planning an evening meal around it. Given the volume the site describes ('one of the area's busiest'), and no separate reservation system mentioned anywhere on the site, this reads as a walk-in, expect-a-wait kind of place, especially at peak breakfast hours in summer.
