During the 1940s and 50s it ran slot machines and floor shows on the town square, and today it's built its reputation on the saddle bar stools — actual saddles mounted as barstools — that have become the bar's signature image, alongside a history of hosting performers from Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson through more recent acts like Carly Pearce and Midland. It still runs as a working honky-tonk: live music Monday through Saturday at 8:30 p.m., with a DJ taking over Sundays at the same time. The bar is open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

The food menu is a bar-food list built to go with drinking and dancing rather than a destination dinner: tortilla chips with salsa and guac, pretzel bites with Fat Tire beer cheese, deep-fried cheese curds with marinara, jalapeño poppers, wings in five flavors from spicy buffalo to garlic parmesan, corndog bites, and a Caesar salad with a grilled chicken add-on. Given the entertainment schedule and bar-food menu, this is a nightlife destination first and a place to eat second — the food exists to support a night of live music and dancing under the saddle stools, not to be the main event.
