Trapper's sits at Solitude Station, the Sweetwater Gondola's mid-mountain stop about 180 vertical feet above the base area at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort — a two-minute gondola ride that makes it one of the most accessible on-mountain restaurants at the resort. Non-skiers in street clothes can ride up and eat for free; skiers and riders need a lift ticket to access the gondola. The restaurant describes its own look as "an elegant chalet blending modern dining with the cozy charm of a classic winter ski lodge," and it built a new bar specifically for handling the midday ski-break rush.

The kitchen works regional Mountain West flavors with, in the restaurant's own words, "a modern twist," built around locally sourced ingredients, and the menu includes vegetarian options. Lunch service and a separate après-ski menu run at different points in the day, and the restaurant also offers dinner, for which reservations are required — lunch reservations are recommended but not mandatory. Groups of 20 or more, or parties wanting the whole space, can arrange private dining or a full buyout.

Solitude Station itself includes a locker facility with RFID storage, continental breakfast, and complimentary beer and snacks for members — worth knowing if you're planning a full day on the mountain around a Trapper's reservation.

A caveat on timing: Trapper's exact hours weren't fully confirmable at the time of writing. The resort's own site lists lunch service in roughly the 11 a.m.-4 p.m. range with après-ski from 2:30 to 4 p.m., but doesn't publish specific dinner hours, and as an on-mountain venue, Trapper's schedule is tied to the ski season and can shift significantly between winter operation and the resort's summer gondola-only hours. Anyone planning a visit outside peak winter season should call ahead to confirm the restaurant is open and what's being served.
