By its own account it has cycled through incarnations over the decades — quiet cocktail lounge, disco bar, western saloon, town dive, "and everything in between" — and the lost-and-found pile tells its own story: a 4-carat diamond ring, dice, a painting, even an antique revolver have all turned up behind the bar at one point or another. The room today keeps the Western bones intact, with swinging saloon-style doors, a fireplace, and booth seating built for settling in and telling tall tales about the day's adventures, alongside pool tables and big-screen TVs for whoever isn't at the bar. Drinks run to craft cocktails, local beer, and a hand-selected wine list, and the crowd skews toward people who actually live in the valley rather than tourists passing through — a bar Trip Advisor reviewers have called an honest dive, "the real thing." There's a full bar menu, though the saloon doesn't publish specific dish names online; reviewers single out the burgers and tater tots. On weekend nights the room fills in around a dance floor with DJs or live bands, and the lodge's event calendar lists occasional open mic nights. Out back, weather permitting, the Yard Bar opens as a separate courtyard hangout with fire pits and a walk-up window pouring beer, wine, and cocktails until 10pm — sometimes with a mobile bar rolled in for busy nights.
